I used to be afraid of menopause.
Scared it meant weight gain was inevitable.
Scared my body would slow down, my energy would dip, and I’d have to just accept it.
But here’s what I’ve come to understand:
Menopause isn’t the problem—your beliefs about it might be.
The other day, I slipped into my bikini, caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and out loud I said:
“Dang woman! You will be 44 in just over two months—and you look GOOD!!”
From the other room, my husband chimed in with a grin,
“You’re smokin’, babe! And I get to appreciate you every day!”
Let me be clear—this didn’t happen by accident.
This happened because I stopped believing the old story that menopause = struggle.
And I started noticing and modeling women who were doing it differently.
Women like @chalenejohnson and @carolineadams—both in midlife, both strong, healthy, vibrant. They weren’t buying into the “inevitable weight gain” narrative.
They were too busy creating a new one.
And when I paid attention to how they lived…
…what they chose to eat
…how they moved
…the way they spoke to themselves
…the kind of energy they carried
…I realized I could start modeling that too.
I asked myself:
“If I were living like a woman who was confidently, comfortably thin… what would I see in my kitchen? What kind of thoughts would I allow in my mind? What would it feel like to put on jeans and not wonder if they’d fit—but know they do?”
I let myself imagine it.
Visualize it.
Feel it.
And then… I started living into it.
Now don’t get me wrong—yes, hormonal changes happen.
Yes, your body may shift.
But fixating on those facts is like saying,
“Well, it’s raining—I guess I’ll just sit here and get soaked.”
You don’t have to fight menopause.
But you do have to decide not to hand over your power.
And if you don’t?
You stay stuck.
Not just in your weight—but in a story.
One that keeps you from showing up in the body and the energy you could be living in.
